Englewood, Colorado (December 15, 2006)…At the Firestone Grand Opening celebration on December 7, 2006, American Furniture Warehouse presented PROJECT C.U.R.E. with a check for $1 Million. It is through this type of support from AFW and the local community that PROJECT C.U.R.E. has been able to open American's Warehouse for the World, its first permanent International Headquarters Office and Warehouse at 10377 E. Geddes Ave., Centennial, Colorado. PROJECT C.U.R.E. is a Denver-based non-profit humanitarian relief agency that collects thousands of pounds of desperately-needed medical supplies and equipment each year and delivers them to hospitals and clinics in more than 100 developing countries that do not have access to safe, quality medical care.

Since 1987 the organization has utilized donated vacant warehouse space to conduct the most vital part of its mission - the sorting, packing, shipping and storing of medical supplies and equipment. Once the donated space was rented or sold, PROJECT C.U.R.E. had to find new space and relocate its operations, as well as hundreds of pallets of stored supplies and equipment. In Colorado, the frequent moves often resulted in thousands of dollars in moving costs and lost productivity for Denver operations.

Once Jake Jabs discovered the need for a permanent warehouse he unveiled "American's Warehouse for the World Campaign"--matching all donations up to $1 million, dollar for dollar, towards a 100,000-square-foot distribution warehouse and office facility.

"We were very much in need of a permanent facility that would enable us to work more efficiently and cost-effectively. Doing so will in turn allow us to facilitate the delivery of quality medical care to even more people all over the world," explained Dr. Douglas Jackson, President/CEO of PROJECT C.U.R.E.
