Muscular Dystrophy Association Re-Elects AFWÂ’s Jake Jabs as National Vice PresidentJuly 17, 2009 Â– At the national meeting for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in Los Angeles, CA on July 10th, Jake Jabs was elected for a ninth time to serve as the National Vice President for the organization. MDA has historically been one of JakeÂ’s favorite charities. Over twenty-six years of his involvement with the organization, Jake has donated over $1 Million dollars to MDA.
Founded in 1950, MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.
MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. With national headquarters in Tucson, MDA has more than 200 offices across the country, sponsors 220 hospital-affiliated clinics and supports nearly 400 research projects around the world.
